I just wanted to thank Amber for directing us to read Julie's post about what influences us. You should definately read it for yourself. It really convicted me about how much time I spend studying God's Word. I can tell you that it is not even a FRACTION of what I spend on the computer or watching TV. Yes, I go to church 3x a week, but I am ashamed to say that some weeks that is the only time I hear or read God's Word, and with an 8 month old, I rarely even hear it then.
So I started thinking, "maybe I need to give up blogging and spend more time in Bible Study." But then I thought "what if we could use our blogs as a way to encourage each other in our studies, sort of like a Bible study group?" So I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this. This could be a great way to get our blogging "fix" and get into the Word at the same time.
So what are your thoughts? Should we set a certain day of the week to post whatever we have been studying about that week? Should we pick a certain book of the Bible or topic to study, and then just post our thoughts whenever we can? or should we all just study whatever we want to and then share what we learned? Anyway, it's just an idea, so let me know what you all think.

I've actually done some posts on passages I've studied. And I definitely felt like it helped me study more thoroughly and then putting my thoughts out there on what I read gave it further depth, and then responses I got from my readers gave me even more ideas. If I had some routine to it or if there was some organized structure for a group of blogs that wanted to do this, I think it would help me even more. So, you have my vote!! :o)
Great idea!! How about "Thursday Thoughts" or "Monday Moments". I'm totally doing this. Thanks for the encouragment.
I think that sounds wonderful. Do it how ever you want, if you want a certain day I'll do something on that day too.
You can't stop doing the regular blogging, for me selfishly, it brings me too much joy to know how other people are doing and to see their babies!
I actually did remove two things from my dvr list, and one was a little painful. But I always felt guilty about watching it.
I LOOOOVE that idea! Amber's friend Jodi here. :) I'm linking you to my blog, if that is ok, so I can share in your studying. I like the whole day-of-the-week thing... Thurs might be better for me because Mondays I am playing catch-up!
You definately have to keep blogging. It would kill me if I didn't get to hear about what the nameless guy let Isabelle do next. I think you have a great idea and it would help motivate us all.
ooo, I like Julie's "Thursday thoughts" idea. Let's do that. So the question is, should we all study the same thing, or just post about whatever we have been personally studying?
PS-Quit blogging? Ha! It was only a fleeting thought that only lasted about a nano-second, then I came back to my senses. :D
I'm in too! I read Jodi's cousins blog also and loved it! Made me feel like I needed to do more also! Thursdays would be good for me. Thanks for not giving up blogging! I think I might have had to come beat you with a stick if you'd done that!!
Let's do Thursdays, and I say we just do what has been on our hearts, or what we've been looking at. Some of us don't do to well with rules.
Love this idea! Thursdays,I'm in!
Okay, great! Thursday Thoughts it is! I'm so glad that everyone is excited about doing this! We will just all post whatever we have been studying that week. You can invite anyone you want to join in on the posting. The more the merrier!
Sounds great! I like the idea of studying all different stuff too...
That sounds like a great idea. I was just thinking the other day how I should spend more time studying God's word. Sometimes it's hard to get motivated but it helps to have good Christian friends who can encourage you. I'm all in. Thanks for coming up with this great idea. You are such an inspiration.
I just wanted to add a comment about a conversation I just had with a co-worker. I have been inviting her to come to church with me sometime and she said she would sometime. I was feeling like since she doesn't go to church that she probably doesn't study the Bible either. But she just told me that she had audio tapes of the Bible that she listens to in her car. I was stunned and also encouraged by her. What a great idea!
Way to go! Dad
