Myrtle Beach trip 2009

I am FINALLY getting around to posting about our beach trip back in August! My stepsister's in-law's own a really nice condo in Myrtle beach, and they get to use it free for a week every year. This year her husband and his parents couldn't go, so she offered for us to come and stay! How often do you get a free place to stay at the beach! The only thing we had to pay for on the trip was gas and food. Me and Isabelle, my mom, my sister, brother-in-law and two nieces piled into a rental van and headed to SC. We left on Wed, and came back on Saturday, so it was a quick trip, but fun and VERY eventful.

We piled all three girls into the back seat and they had a great time back there together.

Sharing oreos:

Catching some zzzz's. Aren't they cute?

That night when we finally got there, we picked up pizza for dinner and ate in the condo, then walked right across the road to walk on the beach.

Isabelle loved the waves. She had a great time running through them.

And falling into them too. :)

Hanging out in their pj's:

The next day we went to the aquarium, which was very interesting with a two year old.

Uncle Chris was a big help. I think he and Izzy bonded on that trip.

Shark attack!

The condo we stayed in was really nice. It was actually a part of a resort that had pools, tennis courts, and even it's own little waterpark. So there was plenty to do. Here are a few pool pictures: I think there was something on my lens so they're a little blurry.

This is her newest addition, baby Olivia. She was born in June.

Me and Izzy:

Isabelle was going to be in this picture too, but she hopped up right before I snapped it.

This little pond was right outside our back door. There were tons of turtles in there, and the girls enjoyed going out there to feed them in the morning:

A few waterpark pictures. Nannee took Isabelle down the slide. They kept getting stuck and I think it freaked Isabelle out a little bit.

Beach pictures: Isabelle was not a huge fan of the beach during the day when it was so hot out there, but we still had fun.

Our last night there was particularly eventful. We all got cleaned up and decided we were going to find a good seafood place for dinner. Someone told us about a place that was supposed to be really good, but still pretty affordable, so we decided to give it a try. We were all in the van and my stepsister was following with her mom and three girls in the car behind us. Well, she got rear-ended by the guy behind her and her car was TOTALED. Her oldest was complaining of her neck hurting, so to play it safe the hopped in the ambulance and went the ER. My mom and her mom took a taxi back to the condo and my bro-in-law stayed to deal w/ the police. Needless to say, we ended up eating Wendy's for dinner that night. My stepsister was up late dealing w/insurance. (Come to find out, the guy didn't have any, and the rental car company was going to charge her over $600 for a one-way rental.) Luckily someone was able to come get them and then meet her sister-in-law halfway. The next morning, we got up, cleaned up our mess in the condo and headed out around lunchtime or maybe a little later. Since that last night was so "eventful", we wanted to do one more fun thing before we left, so we stopped at Barefoot landing and did a little shopping.

Funhouse mirror at barefoot landing:
On the way home, we tried to stop for seafood for dinner again, and this time Isabelle was sick and I ended up sitting in the car with her the whole time, then on the way home she got sick in the car and we had to stop less than an hour away from home to change her clothes. Anyway, it was most defnitely an unforgettable trip, and now I know why Dorothy said that there is no place like home!!

Here are a couple videos from the trip:

Wow! That was eventful! Glad you had fun! The accident makes for a good story at least!
