Veggie Tales

No, I am not talking about Larry the Cucumber or Bob the Tomato. I am talking about my very own garden, in my own backyard.
So here is the story of my very first vegetable garden......
My brother, Don, is the gardener of the family, so he came over to help me get started, since I am a rookie at this vegetable garden thing.
Here he is starting the row of tomatos....
Izzy and Zoey liked watching us work...
Still working...
I tried to get Isabelle to help out, but she'd rather play with Zoey in the grass. Some kids.... :D
Here is the finished product....It looks kinda pitiful right now, but I'm hoping it will turn into something great. (not without a little hard work, I know.)
Starting on the left there are watermelons, cucumbers, squash, a row of carrots (well they are just seeds right now, but I'm hoping they turn into carrots.), and tomatos. I'm also planning to do some corn on the empty side of the garden.
Here is me and my brother standing in my new vegetable garden.
(please ignore the overgrowth in the background...it's on the to-do list.)

I'll post pictures of the progress.(If there is any.) Wish me luck! I'm probably gonna need it!!

You've lost weight!!!! And your brother is incredibly tall. I hope Isabelle is learning some good gardening tips.

How many siblings do you have? I'm losing track. :o)

I'm impressed. The closest I've come to a vegetable garden was two falls ago I left a pumpkin to rot out behind our garage and it sprouted out a few vines, three or four tiny little green pumpkins and one U-G-L-Y, lopsided small orange and green pumpkin. Pretty pathetic! (Not that I was trying, mind you!)

Good luck with it!

You should plant some rhubarb.

Oh yeah, I forgot! I did plant one rhubarb plant, in honor of you, Amber, but it's off to the side in one of the flower beds since it comes back every year. It's looking a little pitiful right now, so I didn't take a picture of it. :/

Yeah for you!! That looks like a lot of fun and work :-) I'm sure you'll be out there everyday talking to the plants and giving them lots of love! Oh, and don't forget the water :-}

Wow, I am impressed. That looks like a lot of work. I did notice there are no pictures of Ben working in the garden though. What's up with that? Your backyard is great. The grass is so green. It looks like you're out in the country.

Wow, I'm impressed with your gardening skills. You'll have to give me some pointers. I was also wondering where Ben was in the pictures. I guess he's too busy inside the house.

Your rhubarb will be amazing, it's very hearty and will thrive. Unless a groundhog gets to it...That's what happened to my Dad's.
