Suprise Visit

This weekend we made our 2nd annual trip to see the Bramletts in Florida. We had a blast! I am starting with the end of our trip first, and I'll do the rest in another post.

On the way home from Florida, we decided to break up our trip and stop to spend the night at a hotel in Knoxville. Ben's sister lives there, but we didn't get in until later in the evening and didn't want to bother her that night, so we decided to go suprise her at her school the next morning. She is a music teacher at one of the inner-city elementary schools. The kids had actually already gotten out for the summer, and this was her last teacher work-day, so I'm glad we caught her!

Boy, was she shocked!! I got this awesome picture of her reaction when she saw Ben:

Even though the whole classroom was all packed up, Izzy still got to play with some cool instruments. She calls this one an "isophone". :) (Yes, I know she is in need of a haircut.)

Cool drum that was almost as tall as her:

Then we went down to the gym and broke out one of the footballs. We had the whole place to ourselves, so Izzy could run wild. It was great.
Check out this action shot:

Playing football with Aunt Meggie:

For some reason she has been crawling a lot lately. Maybe she thought the floor needed to be cleaned. I don't know.

Isabelle, Daddy, and Aunt Meggie:

Anyway, we had a short but great visit with Megan. Thanks Meggie, for showing us around your school!

After that, we headed home after a very long but wonderful trip! More details to come soon!

Mother's Day

First of all, I just have to clarify that I started this post on May 16th, but it was not actually posted until today, June 4th. I know, I am way behind again.

I just wanted to post a few Mother's Day pictures.

The Friday evening before Mother's Day, my two sisters and I went with my mom to a mother daughter banquet at her church. Group pic with Mom:

On Mother's Day, I woke up and found two sweet cards from my husband and one from my daughter with artwork in it.

We drove to C'burg to go to church with Ben's mom that morning. Then after church, instead of waiting for our food at a sit-down restaraunt, we picked up some KFC and took it back to Bonnie's house. It was mmm, mmm good. Then we took some pictures outside:

Isabelle loves Meme's frog:

She thought he needed some glasses:

I might be biased, but I think she's the cutest thing I've ever seen:

A few of Izzy and Mommy:

Belly shot:

I also had to mention that Isabelle went pee-pee in the big potty for the first time just before I started this post. She was cute. She sat up there for like ten minutes singing and saying "I big girl!" However, she has not shown anymore interest since then. We are not pushing it because the new baby is on the way and I'm sure that will complicate things. Anyway, she did it once!

Garden Helper

I have found a new helper for yardwork! Isabelle loves to use the watering can. She calls it a "garden". One evening we were outside working in the yard and I decided to let her help me water our new hostas that the neighbor across the street gave us. She mostly watered her pants leg, but that's okay. ;)

The water was all gone, so then she decided to throw some mulch on the plants. What a good helper! :P

We bought this trash can at Lowes' to start composting in, and she enjoyed riding around in it while we were at Lowes, but for some reason didn't like it too much when I put her in it when we got home.

Family Pics

So I know I am wayyyy behind on blogging. We got these family pictures done as part of my mom's birthday last month. A lot of you have already seen them on facebook, but since I have some family members who aren't on facebook, I thought I'd go ahead post a few of them on here.
