This past weekend, we went to Charlotte, NC for a wedding, so we decided to go ahead and treat this as our anniversary weekend, even though it isn't for two weeks. We spent the night right in the middle of downtown Charlotte, then went to
The Melting Pot for dinner. I highly reccommend it! It's on the expensive side, though, so save it for a special occasion. It's a fondue restaurant, and there's no words I could use to describe it that would do it justice. It was simply the best thing I have ever eaten. There are four courses: Cheese fondue, salad, main course, and dessert. You need to look at their
website to get the full description.
Here is some of the cheesey goodness we got for the first course...you get all this bread, fruit and vegetables to dip in whichever cheese fondue you have chosen, and the fondue pot is right on your table.

Here is the huge plate of meats they brought out...what you can't see is the boiling pot of beef bullion on the table (you cook the meat yourself), and about a dozen different sauces to dip everything in....

Okay, so sue me, I forgot to take a picture of the dessert, I was too busy devouring it...but you can see pictures of it on the website.
After all that feasting, we still weren't hungry when we woke up the next morning, so without any continental breakfast, we headed off to the wedding...
We were friends with a really great family named the Robertsons when we were stationed in SC. Their son, Marshall got married on Saturday to a girl named Rachel that he met at lifeguard training one summer. It was a beatiful wedding. It was held at an old home that was built in the 30's. It was GORGEOUS on the inside and out.
Here is Rachel coming out with her dad. They came out that door, then down the wrought iron steps on the side. She came out to the song
"Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. I cry everytime I hear that song.

Saying their vows...

Here is the happy couple...Mr. and Mrs. Robertson! We are so happy for them and know that they'll have a wonderful life together! They are both great people.

Here are the Robertsons. They were kind of like our "adopted family" when we lived in SC. They still mean a lot to us. You know how there are just some people in life that leave a lasting mark on you, and when you see them again, it's like you never left in the first place? That's how we feel about the Roberstons. They have always been really good to us, and we love them like they are family.

Thanks Marshall and Rachel for letting us be there and be a part of it! We are so happy for you!

We have a melting pot here in Destin. My MIL said it was good but super expensive. That looked pretty good!
I'm going to have to get online to see the desert now!

I've been to a fondue place in ATL. De-lish!
BTW, I like your black background. It really makes all of your pics pop.
We are going to a wedding this weekend in Alabama. Can't wait! It's going to be outside too. Don't you just love how we find families at churches far from home that become part of our extended family....(like how I feel about you guys!!) Can't wait to see you!
