One Year Old!

Our baby turned 1 year old yesterday!! It's so hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the day I woke Ben up at 4:30 in the morning to tell him that it was time to go to the hospital because my water had broke. (Fun times.) Our little Isabelle Joy was such a joy to us then, and everyday our love for her just grows. As Ben says, "It doesn't matter how bad my day was, when I come home and see that smiling face, it makes it all better." I couldn't agree more. Being a parent really is like having a little piece of your heart floating around outside your body.

Here she is getting her first bath at the hospital...look at how relaxed she was...and she still loves the water.

This next picture is with our nurse, Ashley. She was awesome. She's the one who got me the good drugs I was talking about.

(I am not sure why the thought didn't occur to me to pick up a hairbrush or something before they took this picture. I guess 12 and 1/2 hours of labor causes a lapse in brain activity.)

I just love this picture. If you look at it closely, it looks like she's looking up and smiling back at him. I knew from the very beginnning they would be best friends.

This one was actually taken yesterday on her birthday, with her new toothbrush! Isn't she CUTE?? (I'm not biased at all.)

Thanks for taking this little trip down memory lane with us. Happy Birthday to our dear Isabelle Joy! We love you so much, and are so proud of the way you are growing!!
